The project aims to improve the system of registration of legal rights to immovable property by developing standardized, clear and more efficient registration procedures, and by introducing an improved information management system for the registration offices.
Using a variety of instruments (forest protection, sustainable forest management, reforestation), the purpose of the planned project is to sustainably protect an entire forest ecosystem in the Russian Far East on a model basis. A further goal is to examine to what extent emission permits can be earned with these measures.
One of the negative impacts of uncontrolled deforestation within the Western Caucasus World Natural Heritage Site is that adjacent villages are being ever more frequently affected by flooding and landslides.
