El programa de Gobernanza Integrada de Tierras y Recursos II (Integrated Land and Resource Governance II - ILRG II), financiado por la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID), busca Documentos Conceptuales para el Fondo de Subvenciones para Defensores del Medio Ambiente, con el fin de apoyar a las organizaciones defensoras del medio ambiente con los recursos necesarios para mejorar su impacto en el tratamiento de la causa raíz de las amenazas, y garantizar la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de su trabajo vital: Grant Solicitation: ILRG II-RFA-001 (site.com).

Celebramos la 80º cartera de país del Land Portal -- Iraq -- así como las 79 que la respaldan. Esta rica colección representa siete años de trabajo y refuerza el compromiso del Land Portal de hacer que la información sobre la tierra sea abierta y accesible. Publicamos perfiles en inglés, francés, español y portugués, y recientemente hemos añadido el árabe para satisfacer las necesidades de los usuarios de la región árabe.
 

Los 80 países de nuestro compendio constituyen una historia sobre la tierra que alberga al 73% de la población mundial. Los perfiles de los países del Land Portal son una de las mejores puertas de entrada para comprender la gobernanza de la tierra en un país determinado. Estas completas guías, rigurosamente investigadas, escritas y revisadas por expertos, abordan la historia, la política y la cultura, y están dirigidas tanto a expertos como a lectores ocasionales. 

A medida que el Land Portal desarrolla el Índice del Estado de la Información sobre la Tierra (SOLIndex), estos perfiles proporcionarán un contexto importante para comprender la puntuación de los países. Aclaran qué papel desempeña la tierra en la economía, la política, la cultura y el medio ambiente.

YCAR is a community of York University researchers who are committed to analyzing the changing historical and contemporary dynamics of societies in Asia, understanding Asia’s place in the world, and studying the experiences of Asian communities in Canada and around the globe. AsiaDHRRA traces its earliest roots to the 1974 Development of Human Resources in Rural Asia Workshop (DHRRAW) held in Thailand. The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) is an independent, non-governmental body, which seeks to promote greater awareness and realisation of human rights in the Asian region, and to mobilise Asian and international public opinion to obtain relief and redress for the victims of human rights violations. It was founded in 1986 by a prominent group of jurists and human rights activists in Asia and serves to promote civil and political rights, as well as economic, social and cultural rights.
