Silkworm Books was founded in 1987 and published its first book in 1991. It was the vision of Trasvin Jittidecharak, who wanted to establish an international publishing house based in her hometown of Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. Silkworm Books specialized, from the outset, in producing quality English-language books on Southeast Asia and has since developed into an internationally recognized and highly regarded publisher of excellent books in history, political science, anthropology, and many other fields of study, all centered around the culture and society of Southeast Asia.

The ASEAN Social Forestry Network (ASFN) is a government-driven social forestry network that links government forestry policy-makers directly with members of the civil society, research organizations, academia, the private sectors and experts of related fields,- all sharing the common grounds to vision the growth of social forestry in all ASEAN Member Countries.

Launched at the ASEAN Senior Officials on Forestry (ASOF) in August 2005, ASFN is the first and largest government-driven social forestry network in Southeast Asia.

PCC is a Mongolian NGO established in 2006, which aims to promote the protection of natural resources through support to the activities of local residents and civil society, with a strong commitment to addressing issues for gender equality and vulnerable groups.

Values

The Korea Development Institute is an autonomous policy-oriented research organization founded in 1971. KDI was established by the Korean government as an economic think tank to provide a rigorous academic perspective on the various economic policy issues that had arisen during Korea’s rapid growth and development in the 1960s. Since then, the scope of KDI’s activities has grown, and it is now called upon to provide expert analysis and advice on all aspects of long- and short-term government policies in areas ranging from domestic economic policy to international trade and investment.

NUS Press publishes academic books and journals, as well as general non-fiction. Our home market is Singapore and Southeast Asia, but our books are distributed internationally. We publish books of special relevance to Southeast Asia and we maintain a disciplinary focus on the humanities and social sciences. The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) works to strengthen institutional capacities toward inclusive and sustainable agricultural and rural development (ISARD) in Southeast Asia through graduate education, research and development, and knowledge management.

 

SEARCA is a non-profit organization established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in 1966.

Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia

SOJOURN is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of social and cultural issues in Southeast Asia. It publishes empirical and theoretical research articles to promote and disseminate scholarship in and on the region. Areas of special concern include ethnicity, religion, tourism, urbanization, migration, popular culture, social and cultural change, and development. Fields most often represented in the journal are anthropology, sociology and history.

WorldFish's mission is to reduce poverty and hunger by improving fisheries and aquaculture. We strive to achieve large scale, environmentally sustainable, increases in supply and access to fish at affordable prices for poor consumers in developing countries.

RECOFTC

RECOFTC is derived from an abbreviated form of the organization's legal name, Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific. Formerly the organization was known as RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests.
