Ela está avaliada pela CAPES com conceito A2 na área de Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais e se vincula ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia (PPGS), bem como ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Políticas Públicas (PPPP), ambos da Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE).

The journal sets out to showcase high-quality scholarship on the modern histories, cultures, societies, languages, politics and religions of Asia through the publication of research articles, book reviews and review articles.

Established in 1998, the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies promotes an interdisciplinary approach to area studies in order to better understand the world’s diverse regions. The school aims to train specialists in Asian and African area studies, who have a global perspective, but also retain a detailed understanding of localities.
