ETFRN was established in 1991 in response to the growing concernes on the rapid deforestation occurring particularly in the tropics, and the European Commission's desire to mobilise European research to address this challenge.

Environment, Development and Sustainability is an international, multidisciplinary journal covering all aspects of the environmental impacts of socio-economic development. ForestAction (Forest Resources Studies and Action Team) Nepal, established in 2000, is a learning oriented, not-for-profit, professional organization working in the areas of Forestry, Agriculture and Climate Change. Initiated in 2001, Journal of Forest and Livelihood (ISSN 1684-0186) is a peer reviewed journal that documents and disseminates the insights, lessons and innovations taking place in socio-cultural, political and economic aspects of environmental governance and rural livelihoods in Nepal. We are open to all academic perspectives from political ecology and cultural politics, as long as they identify a relevant theoretical lens and draw implications for policy and practice. The ASEAN Social Forestry Network (ASFN) is a government-driven social forestry network that links government forestry policy-makers directly with members of the civil society, research organizations, academia, the private sectors and experts of related fields,- all sharing the common grounds to vision the growth of social forestry in all ASEAN Member Countries.

Launched at the ASEAN Senior Officials on Forestry (ASOF) in August 2005, ASFN is the first and largest government-driven social forestry network in Southeast Asia.

 

FOCALI

Focali (Forest, Climate, and Livelihood research network) is a Swedish research network focusing on forest / bio-energy, climate change and poverty issues. Several Swedish universities and institutions are represented in the network. The purpose is to contribute to the provision of relevant knowledge to Sida and other Swedish authorities for the effective use of forest operations to achieve climate-poverty targets. Focali also aims to increase the flow of relevant information between scientists, industry, government and civil society.

Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences

The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences(JIRCAS) was established in October 1993, through the reorganization of its predecessor, the Tropical Agriculture Research Center (TARC), in order to include overseas forestry and fisheries research in its mandate. It was again restructured in April, 2001 as an Incorporated Administrative Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).

CNVP (Connecting Natural Values and People) is a Dutch based organization operating in the Balkans. Being part of the forestry team within SNV http://www.snv.org a group of committed forestry engineers decided to establish CNVP in July, 2012. From its origins up to today this small team of enthusiastics has grown to 25 people from diversified backgrounds. Currently CNVP is implementing projects in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
