This report is the result of the project "Promoting conflict prevention and management

in the process of registering land titles of the native communities of the Andean Amazon of San Martin - Peru", implemented by Paz y Esperanza (Moyobamba), with the support of German cooperation for development, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, through the Pro Tierras Comunales project.

Territorial conflicts include overlaps of different territorial categories granted by the

State in its different levels and tensions between neighbours (social conflicts), which, while not necessarily come to have violent expressions, they do represent "obstacles to certification" or may limit future territorial management of the native communities.

The Peace and Hope team worked closely in collaboration with CODEPISAM, its eight federations and the presidents of the members of the native communities. The field work was carried out in three units, between August 2016 to January 2017; with a total of 28 field visits. In addition, the database of Peace and Hope was updated through the mapped data on conflicts in the territory of St. Martin.
