We provide independent, professional advice to organisations looking to scrutinise their aid programmes. Our work provides accountability to the ultimate funders of the programmes, whether they are taxpayers or philanthropists, as well as learning for the broader international community to improve the way that development is done.
The University of Wolverhampton is a public university located on four campuses across the West Midlands, Shropshire and Staffordshire in England. The roots of the university lie in the Wolverhampton Tradesmen's and Mechanics' Institute founded in 1827 and the 19th-century growth of the Wolverhampton Free Library (1870), which developed technical, scientific, commercial and general classes. The Forestry Commission of Ghana
ClientEarth is an environmental law charity, with offices in London, Brussels, Warsaw, Berlin, and Beijing. It was founded in 2008 by James Thornton. As lawyers and environmental experts, they use the law to hold governments and other companies to account over climate change, nature loss and pollution
In 2017, ClientEarth was named the most effective environmental group by green leaders. In 2012 BusinessGreen gave ClientEarth its NGO of the Year award. In 2013 ClientEarth was awarded the Law Society's LSA Award for Excellence in Environmental Responsibility.
The idea behind Well Grounded came from the experience of the two founder members. Cath Long and Iola Leal had both been working for a long time with civil society organisations in tropical countries that focussed on community rights and the sustainable management of natural resources. And although they both met many inspirational and dynamic individuals and groups who were doing extraordinary things, they realised that these same people and groups kept running up against barriers that stopped them from scaling up what they were doing and having the impact they hoped for.
The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is a non-profit, scientific facility that conducts research on the most pressing challenges of forest and landscapes management around the world. Investigations
Fern (also Stichting Fern) is a Dutch foundation created in 1995. It is an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) set up to keep track of the European Union's involvement in forests and to coordinate NGO activities at the European level. Through its work, Fern aims to increase the political and economic opportunities for people to create a more balanced society in which human rights are fully respected and environmental and social values are fully integrated.

Mission
