In recent years, the Chinese labour movement has witnessed significant developments, not only with the occurrence of some of the largest strikes in decades but also the emergence of increasingly serious challenges for workers and activists. At the same time, the Chinese Communist Party has ramped up its efforts to reshape the landscape of civil society and stifle political and social activism.
