This Act sets forth procedures and principles of acquiring any land by the Government for public purposes and abandonment of acquisition. The acquisition of lands for public purposes shall only be made by the declaration of the Governor General.

This Act makes provision for the payment of compensation for withholding of property by persons acting in collusion with tenants and for the recovery of non-paid rent. The Act also makes provision for the renewal of leases without the surrender of land.

This Act makes provision with respect to contracts relative to agricultural small tenancies. Section 8 concerns the termination of a contract of tenancy in the case of serious offence by the tenant against his or her duty to keep the land in good order. A tenant may assign, with the consent of the landlord, assign his interest in a registered land at any time to a person or persons (sect. 10).

The Act regulates the removal of sands, corals, stones, shingle, or gravel from any part of any beach or sea bed. Any action of digging for, taking, carrying away of such material or assisting in any such actions shall be prohibited if not prior to such act a permission is obtained from the appropriate authority.
