This Act makes provision for agreements between the Government and Indian bands (as defined by the Indian Act) for the purposes of resolving and extinguishing claims asserted by an Indian band and the council of a band against the Government or against the Government and Canada in respect of cut-off lands.

This Act provides for sale and lease of land, and any estate or interest therein, which is the subject of a settlement. “Settlement” signifies any act, deed, agreement, will or other instrument under or by virtue of which any land or any estate or interest in land stands limited to or in trust for any persons by way of succession.

This Act provides for remedies in the case of disputes involving sale of an immovable common property that is undivided in shares. Any owner may request the Court to direct the sale of the property and the distribution of proceeds thereof. The Court shall have also discretion to direct a sale where sale is not requested by an owner of a moiety or upwards in accordance with section 4 (sect. 5).

Digging, taking, carrying away or aiding or assisting in digging, taking or carrying away any sand, stone, shingle or gravel from any beach or seashore in Grenada without the permission of the Permament Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Works is declared to be an offence (sect. 3). The Minister may, by Order, declare that this Law does not apply to a specified beach (sect. 4).
