Section 3 of the present Act establishes that the corporation known as the "British Columbia Assessment Authority" is continued consisting of the board of directors appointed under section 11. The purpose of the authority is to establish and maintain assessments that are uniform in the whole of British Columbia in accordance with the Assessment Act. The text – consisting of 23 sections – deals, among others, with the following aspects: power to acquire property, powers and duties of the board of directors, purpose of the authority, powers and duties of the authority, appointment of directors and chair, accounts and audits and finances.
