This Act provides for the transfer of State real estate assets (including land and water areas), the leasing out of State land assets and the grant of special rights. It applies to State agencies and institutions and the enterprises referred to in the State Enterprise Act (627/1987) and to some other public institutions. The Act, among other things, sets out the terms on which state real assets may be transferred or leased out. The decision to transfer State real estate assets is made by the Government, but ministries may, within their spheres of administration, decide on transfer of assets of which the value does not exceed five million euro.

Implemented by: Government Decree on the Acquisition, Possession and Management of State Real Estate Assets (No. 1070 of 2002). (2002-12-11)
