   The scope of export-import operations with food goods (FG) and agricultural feedstock (AF) in 2012-2017 is estimated and the volume of output of the main kinds of agricultural products by 2020 by the EEU countries is forecasted. It is shown that from 2012 till 2016 the scope of export, import, goods turnover and trade balance of FG and AF have reduced from 17871.0; 44363.7; 62234.7 and -26492.7 mln dol to 16941.2; 26491.6; 43432.8 and -5411.4 mln dol, respectively. The mutual trade of FG and AF for the same period reduced 8058.3 to 6847.3 mln dol.

   This book is aimed at finding answers to questions about what the current situation with soil resources in the region of Central Asia and Southern Caucasus as related to food security, and how we can improve the food supply through the impact on the soil. The book consists of three parts. The first part is devoted to common issues of food security and sustainable development, and to the role of soil resources in their maintenance. The second part is about land resources, the assessment of their degradation and successful practices of their recovery.

   Настоящее исследование по вопросам управления землепользованием в странах Восточной Европы и Содружества Независимых Государств (СНГ) было подготовлено в качестве основания для обсуждения в ходе региональных консультационных совещаний в рамках разработки Добровольных руководящих принципов ответственного управления режимом владения землей и другими природными ресурсами ФАО. Региональное совещание для Восточной Европы состоялось в Бухаресте 22 24 марта 2010 года. Региональное совещание для стран СНГ будет проведено позже в этом году.

   This Protocol sets up Interstate council on natural and technological disasters performing the following functions: (a) assistance in organization of cooperation between the Parties in the sphere of prevention of natural and technological disasters and mitigation of the consequences thereof; and (b) drafting recommendations for improvement of legislation related to prevention of natural and technological disasters and mitigation of the consequences thereof.

   The Parties have agreed to cooperate in the following spheres: (a) integration of early warning systems and emergency intervention systems; (b) joint participation in the international organizations and programs; (c) liability of each Party for the outbreak and consequences of disasters; (d) prevention of the outbreak of disasters; and (e) autonomous decision-making at the national level.
