This publication demonstrates the scope of research and human resources development
over the period between January 2014 and March 2019. It highlights some of the
accomplishments as the result of the collaborative efforts among the seven countries of
the Arabian Peninsula, project donors, and ICARDA-APRP.

The research Activity “Improvement of water productivity and adaptation to climate change through the development of integrated inputs (water and nitrogen) management options” was launched in 2015, and implemented by ICARDA in Morocco, in the frame of the Project titled “Sustainability and Operationalization of Established Regional Agricultural Research Centers in Five Arab Countries”, which was granted by the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development (AFESD).

The Climate Change Adaptation and Agribusiness Support Programme (CASP) of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nigeria (FMARD) aims at mainstreaming climate change adaptation measures in the savannah belt of Northern Nigeria, through a landscape rehabilitation approach focused on sustainable land management. Demonstration sites will be established across seven Nigerian states (Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto).
