The Thailand Land Titling Project is an outstanding success story of inter-agency cooperation and received the World Bank Award for Excellence in 1997. It was designed as a four-phase project over 20 years and will finish in 2004. The project partners the Royal Thai Government, the Bank, and the government of Australia provided funds and personnel, with the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) supplying technical assistance and training programs to the Department of Lands (Thailand).

Estos niveles de inequidades, partes de procesos económico socios y políticos (concentración de las cadenas de valores, agricultura de escala industrial apoyada por políticas publicas hacia los mercados de exportación), han generado algunas problemáticas relacionadas a la gobernanza de los recursos y su tenencia, tanto para la población como para los ecosistemas que sustentan en gran medida el crecimiento económico de los países de la región.

L’accaparement des terres au Tchad est un phénomène nouveau, massif, et accumulateur visant le contrôle de large partie de terres riches agricoles. Le contexte tchadien correspond plus ou moins aux critères globalement admis pour définir l’accaparement des terres : la taille des emprises, les acteurs (passifs ou actifs), le contrôle des procédures, la légalité des acquisitions et l’utilisation des terres cédées. Les investisseurs étrangers se sont encore peu intéressés au foncier agricole tchadien. Le phénomène est porté par une classe d’investisseurs locaux.

The African Land Policy Centre (ALPC), a joint initiative of the African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the African Development Bank (AfDB) biennially convenes the only African, multi-stakeholder conference on land policy in Africa. The Conference complements existing initiatives such as the annual World Bank Land and Poverty Conference, among others.
