On 28th June from 2pm - 5pm CEST the LandPortal and LandVoc Community of Experts hosted a workshop as part of the 4th AGROVOC Annual Editorial Meeting to support shared learning and dialogue on the development, promotion and adoption of AGROVOC sub-schemes.
LAND-at-scale is a land governance support program for developing countries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, which was launched in 2019. The aim of the program is to directly strengthen essential land governance components for men, women and youth that have the potential to contribute to structural, just, sustainable and inclusive change at scale in lower- and middle-income countries/regions/landscapes. The program is designed to scale successful land governance initiatives and to generate and disseminate lessons learned to facilitate further scaling.
The report addresses a much debated issue – bioenergy and associated land use change, and how the climate change mitigation from use of bioenergy can be influenced by greenhouse gas emissions arising from land use change. The purpose of this background report is to supply a more detailed, fully referenced version for practitioners, and researchers, in support of the short version (IEA Bioenergy: ExCo:2010:03) which was aimed at policy advisors and policy makers.
The congress was organized by Ege University’s Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, (Agricultural Faculty), and The Soil Science Society of Turkey (SSST). The congress also hosted the 6th International Conference on Land Degradation (ICLD).

RECOFTC and RRI co-organized the International Conference on Poverty Reduction and Forests: Tenure, Market, and Policy Reforms, which was held 3-7 September 2007 in Bangkok.
Hosted in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 18 to 20 August 2009, the First Regional People and Forests Forum on Carbon Financing and Community Forestry brought together more than 80 people from 12 countries, including key government, civil society, private sector, and international organization participants. During the three days, participant learning and discussion was stimulated through case study and topical presentations, expert panel discussions, a film viewing, group work sessions, and a field visit to Vietnam’s only afforestation/reforestation Clean Development Mechanism (A/R CDM) site.
Over 200 participants including 134 international delegates from 20 countries convened on 8–9 August 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand, for two days of deliberations on the potential of community forestry to address some of the biggest challenges we face today. Be it persistent rural poverty, climate change, governance, deforestation, or rights of indigenous and local people, there were questions raised and solutions offered in several packed sessions ending in a Vision 2020 exercise and a Call for Action at the close of the Forum.
An international workshop on Forest and Land Tenure Reform was held in Vientiane on 28-29 August, 2012. The workshop was hosted by the National Assembly of Lao PDR, with support from RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests through the Rights and Resources Initiatives (RRI).
