    The Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Responsible Governance of Investment in Land (RGIL) project conducted national Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue (MSD) under the theme “Responsible Agricultural Investment: A Pathway to Inclusive Sustainable Development”. It was held from 21 to 22 March 2023 in Addis Ababa, at Radisson Blu Hotel. The dialogue brought together ninety-one representatives of government officials, technical experts, academia, agricultural investors, the local community, civil society organizations (CSO), consultants, and the media.

    The second Multi-Stakeholders Dialogue Forum (MSD 02) was held from 29 to 31 March 2022 in Bahir Dar city, the capital of the Amhara region. The MSD Forum brought together 115 representatives of government officials, technical experts, investors, local community representatives, development partners, and the media in order to find solutions to the various challenges in the governance of largescale agricultural investments in Ethiopia. The three-days MSD meeting included presentations, group work and field visits.

    The main objectives of the cooperative societies of the 1960’s were the promotion, in accordance with cooperative principles and the requirements of social justice, of better living, better business and better methods of production by reducing the cost of credit, etc. Most of the societies then were farmers' cooperatives whose membership were composed of land owners, provincial and district Governors businessmen, etc. The leadership was also controlled by the same people.

    Different government institutions in Ethiopia are working on land related issues to tackle and manage data and information independently from each other, even though their activities and mandates are often related or even overlap. Those institutions do not have a shared modern information management system to properly compile and store data in such a way that users from other relevant institutions can access and share such data and resources for better planning and informed decision making.

    This paper presents a method for stratifying villages into Development domains using multivariate analysis of a broad community-based survey. The results from the analysis are used to draw conclusions in terms of policy implications. Topics of discussion include Development domains and policy implications.     In this paper, concepts from Socio-Ecological Systems (SES) theory are applied to explore interactions among ecosystem services, livelihoods and resilience of SES. The approach was to i) examine trends in the stock of bundle of ecosystem services in three study landscapes namely Fogera, Jeldu and Diga within the Blue Nile Basin of Ethiopia, ii) describe the trajectories in livelihood strategies, poverty status and present evidence of success and failure in these SES, and iii) explore linkages between stocks of ecosystem services, livelihood conditions and resilience of the SES.
