   The World Banana Forum (WBF) publication developed a methodological guide to reduce water and carbon footprints in banana plantations worldwide. Members of the Working Group (WG) on Sustainable Production Systems and Environmental Impact acknowledged the contribution of banana production in the total global GHG emissions and the consumption of freshwater in the economic activity, both stressed in the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21), having the agricultural sector a high mitigation potential.

La publicación provee una revisión sobre los principales datos y hechos científicos sobre el estado actual del conocimiento así como las principales lagunas de conocimiento sobre Carbono Orgánico del Suelo. Realza cómo se puede implementar la información mejorada y las buenas prácticas para apoyar a eliminar el hambre, adapt arse a y mitigar el cambio climático así como lograr en general el desarrollo sostenible.

It provides an overview to decision-makers and practitioners of the main scientific facts and information regarding the current knowledge and knowledge gaps on Soil Organic Carbon. It highlights how better information and good practices may be implemented to support ending hunger, adapting to and mitigating climate change and achieving overall sustainable developm ent.

    This report uses household-level data from 33, mostly developing, countries to analyse perceptions of tenure insecurity among women. We test two hypotheses: (1) that women feel more insecure than men; and (2) that increasing statutory protections for women, for instance by issuing joint named titles or making inheritance law more gender equal, increases de facto tenure security.
