This paper focuses on compendium on cadastral regulations and land tenure policies in Africa. This compendium on cadastral regulations and land tenure policies m Africa covering both English and French speaking countries is prepared under the terms of reference of U.N. Economic Commission for Africa. The reader of this compendium may not find it quite up-to-date in the case of all countries.
The objective of land payment shall be to ensure through economic methods rational use of land, to form resources for carrying out measures of land organization, improvement of land quality and land conservation, as well as of social development of the territory. Issues related to establishment, the present Law, the Land Code, shall regulate collection and use of land payment and other legislative acts. Land payment shall be compulsory for all land owners, land users, including lessees, and land proprietors, except cases stipulated by the present Law and other legislative acts.
Summarizes recent research (to 1991) on rural land markets in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region and on the relationship between this research and broader land tenure issues. The purpose of the project that prompted this paper was to carry out cross-country and longitudinal research on land tenure issues in the LAC region so as to provide an instructive and informative analysis of how tenure patterns affect economic, rural development, and environmental issues.
To provide for the upgrading and conversion into ownership of certain rights granted in respect land; for the transfer of tribal land in full ownership to tribes; and for matters connected therewith.
