    The present paper is written as part of the overall VG consultation and development process
    and is a contribution to the subsequent preparation of the Gender Technical Guide. The
    present paper is based both on the outcomes of the VG consultation process to date and on
    supporting research, consultation and literature review on gender and governance of tenure. It
    contextualises and defines gender for the VG, discusses what governance of tenure means
    from a gender perspective, and identifies and analyses key issues and themes.

    The paper revisits seasonality by assessing how the quantity and quality of diets vary across agricultural seasons in rural and urban Ethiopia. Using unique nationally representative household level data for each month over one calendar year, we document seasonal fluctuations in household diets in terms of both the quantity of calories consumed and the number of different food groups consumed.

Presenters describe the 3-S river hydropower dam and its impacts, the importance of affected fisheries to Cambodia, and provide an overview of their research on the Tonle Sap.     Indigenous communities in Cambodia are legally recognized and should thus have been protected by the Land Law and the Forestry Law, entitling them to communal land titles. A number of national and international instruments including the Cambodian Land Law of 2001, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the ILO Convention no. 169 on Indigenous and Tribal Peoples and the World Bank Safeguard Policy recognize both collective and individual Indigenous Peoples’ rights.
