Various forms of coastal landuse covering study site (46,785.69 hectares) were observed to underwent changes as evidently detected between satellite images sensed in 1994 and 2001 at the Banten Bay. It was important to identify what these changes were. Therefore, appropriate change detection must be selected. The image preprocessing step involved removing errors from raster data. This was done by performing basic processes, such as, radiometric correction, geometric correction and image calibration.

The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristic of structure, species composition and species diversity in secondary mixed deciduous forest at Thung Salaeng Luang National Park, Lower North of Thailand. This vertical stratification of the tree canopy can affect the growth of young trees on the ground surface, especially that of saplings and seedlings. Ground species can establish themselves very quickly when the light intensity is high enough and especially when the light can penetrate directly to the ground during gap formation.

For forecasting agricultural production to design cropping patterns and to utilize water effectively, a computerized agricultural production monitoring system named PDM was selected. The Nam Oon irrigation project was chosen as a case study. PDM was used for agricultural production forecasting in the Nam Oon project for ten cultivation seasons from the 1995 wet season to the 2000 dry season. The factors affecting flow in the canal and the agricultural production forecasting equation were also investigated.

Worldwide, only a few 'fatty' pig breeds exist with different and/or regional utilization. Using the Hungarian Mangalica, which almost went extinct in Europe and the Lao Moo Lat pig, which still has a large population in South-East Asia as exemples, we wanted to demonstrate that indigenous (fatty) pig breeds may represent both national value and tremendous economic potential. Since these less prolific and less productive breeds cannot contribute to mass production, new market roles and methods should be established for them in the premium segment of pork trading.
