    This report was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). RVO is responsible for the implementation of the LAND-at-scale programme, a demand-driven land governance support programme. The programme currently holds a portfolio of projects in 14 countries. LAND-at-scale supports interventions based on the UN Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests (VGGT), with particular attention to interventions that support food security, rule of law, private sector development, gender equality and climate action.

    The New Urban Agenda and SDG 11 promote inclusive urban development, but limited empirical
    knowledge exists on how such global rhetoric plays out on the ground. This paper contributes
    to the inclusive city debate by focusing on the case of Soba, a peri-urban area at the fringes
    of the capital of Sudan. Based on an explorative study of secondary material, semi-structured

    To mitigate the disastrous consequences of COVID-19, IFAD has committed itself
    to supporting affected rural people in many countries, including Sudan, through the IFAD-established Rural Poor Stimulus Facility (RPSF). Additional support
    of US$747,650, requested by the Government of Sudan to help 5,000 families
    of small-scale farmers in the three states of Kordofan and in Sennar state,
    has been approved. This will contribute to mitigating the negative impacts of COVID-19 on small-scale producers.

    The Mediterranean region covers about 854 million ha, but only 118 million (or 14 per cent) are suitable for agricultural production.     Agriculture is considered one of the vital activities in Egypt; it consumes about 83� % of the Egyptian Nile water quota. This activity is becoming negatively affected by water pollution causing negative repercussion on land productivity and subsequently food security. This paper assesses the water quality for agriculture along the mainstream of the Nile in Egypt through spatial distributions modelling of total dissolved solids (TDS), using spatial statistical analysis.

    Trade liberalisation processes impact differently on men and women due to the fact that men and women have different roles in production. Despite the fact that women are actively involved in international trade, WTO agreements are gender blind and as such have adverse impacts on women. The General Agreement in Trade and Service (GATS), for instance, provides for a level playing field in service provision between big foreign owned companies and small locally owned companies.
