The New Urban Agenda and SDG 11 promote inclusive urban development, but limited empirical

Rapports et recherchesavril, 2021Afrique septentrionale, Iraq, Jordanie, Liban, Arabie saoudite, République arabe syrienne, Émirats arabes unis, YémenIt is widely understood that effective use of land, the sustainable production of food and development are linked. Yet, creating effective policy, which takes into account broader notions such as economic prosperity and social justice, especially in the context of competing claims to land use and title, still presents significant challenges. The difficulties are compounded by the fragmented nature of information resources about land.

Publication évaluée par des pairsmars, 2021TunisieNatural rangelands occupy about 5.5 million hectares of Tunisia’s landmass, and 38% of this area is in Tataouine governorate. Although efforts towards natural restoration are increasing rapidly as a result of restoration projects, the area of degraded rangelands has continued to expand and the severity of desertification has continued to intensify. Any damage caused by disturbances, such as grazing and recurrent drought, may be masked by a return of favorable rainfall conditions.
