    Objective of study were to simulate size area of land use change in Phitsanulok province from 2552 to 2560 B.E., and decided agriculture area and forest area, and to be use as a guideline map for formulating the land use and forest conservation, In Phitsanulok province. Geographic Information System couples with CLUE-S model by Logistic Regression and Markov chain model were used to predict of future land use in Phitsanulok province.

    The third GLF Investment Case was held on May 30, 2018 at the International Finance Corporation in Washington DC.

    The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) entered a new era in December 2017 when it successfully launched its next five-year phase, centered on building a worldwide movement to connect and engage one billion people around sustainable land use.

    The inaugural meeting of this ‘new’ GLF was held from 19-20 December at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany, where the movement will take up residence over the next five years.

    Pig-rearing, essential oils, fruit trees and beekeeping: establishing additional sources of income has been key to a restoration project on the biodiversity-rich island of Madagascar.*


    Forest loss and degradation have plagued Madagascar’s unique biological diversity. Direct causes include slash-and-burn agriculture for subsistence crops. As a result, the island’s evergreen forest is severely fragmented. While tree planting had occurred in the past, it centred on exotic species with limited social and ecological benefits.
