    The present Regulation enacts the Environmental Management Act. This “Summary of Site Condition” will serve several purposes. It will provide the Ministry of Environment with a summary of key information that will be used to understand the status of investigations and remediation, the nature and extent of remediation that is proposed or has been undertaken, further work that will be required, or closure documentation requested that is authorized by legislation and regulations in British Columbia.

    The present Regulation enacts section 6 of the Land Survey Act dealing with subdivisions of land surveyed in sections. Section 1 of the above-mentioned Regulation shows how such a subdivision may be laid out.

    The present Act lays down provisions relating to assessment of property in the province of British Columbia. Section 18 establishes that all land and improvements in British Columbia are liable to assessment under the present Act unless exempted under this or another enactment. In particular, Part 3 deals, inter alia, with special valuation rules for dams, power plants and substations, valuation rules for designated port land, as well as with classification of land as a farm and classification and valuation of forest land.

    The present Regulation enacts the Assessment Act. The Regulation lays down provisions relating to the assessment of farm land. In particular, section 1 establishes that the enclosed land value schedules must be used for determination of value for the purposes of assessment of agricultural land.     Section 3 of the present Act establishes that the corporation known as the "British Columbia Assessment Authority" is continued consisting of the board of directors appointed under section 11. The purpose of the authority is to establish and maintain assessments that are uniform in the whole of British Columbia in accordance with the Assessment Act.

    The present Regulation enacts the Assessment Act. The Regulation lays down provisions relating to the standards for the classification of farm land. In particular, section 4 establishes that the assessor must classify as farm all or part of a parcel of land used for: a) primary agricultural production, b) a farmer's dwelling, or c) the training and boarding of horses when operated in conjunction with horse rearing.2) Land will only be classed as farm where part of a parcel or parcels of land are: a) necessary to the farm, and b) predominantly used for primary agricultural production.
