This Act makes minor amendments to various provisions of the Land Valuation and Tax Act 1967, including provisions regarding proceedings of the Land Valuation Appeal Tribunal.

This Act provides rule for tenancy relationships and relevant contracts, including contracts for agricultural tenancies.The Act consists of 37 sections divided into 6 Parts; Preliminary (I); Payment of rent (II); Short residential tenancies (III); Termination of contracts of tenancy (IV); Recovery of possession and mesne profits (V); Supplemental (VI).Section 12 prescribes minimum periods of notice of termination of agricultural tenancies.
This Act regulates the registration of mortgages. All persons holding mortgages or other conditional conveyances of property which shall be made and executed by any person or persons in respect of any property situate in Bermuda shall deposit for registration in the office of the Registrar General a memorandum containing the particulars as set out in section 1. Non registration implies that other persons can mortgage or conditionally convey the same property. Charges on property of company other than on land in Bermuda cannot be registered under this Act.
This Act provides for the establishment of Parish Councils for each Parish and defines their functions and powers. Parish records on the registration of land shall be transferred to the Registrar General.
This Act prescribes criteria and procedures for the partition of land initiated by a request of a co-tenant. The petition for the division of land shall be presented to the Supreme Court who may request interested parties to execute all necessary deeds for partition. The Act also provides for the protection of interests of infants in partition proceedings.
This Act empowers the Supreme Court of Bermuda to order, in certain circumstances, the sale of a real property instead of partition. This action may be initiated at the initiative of the Court or at the request of an interested party. Parties interested may bid at the sale.
This Act modifies the law relating to the avoidance of future interests in property on grounds of remoteness and governing accumulations of income from property. The rule against perpetuities shall not apply to an option to acquire for valuable consideration an interest on the term of a lease if: (a) the option is exercisable only by the lessee or his or her successors in title, and (b) it ceases to be exercisable at or before the expiration of one year following the determination of the lease.
This Act: limits the application of the rule against perpetuities also in relation to lands; codifies the rule as it applies to charities; and amends the law relating to accumulations of income.
This Act requires surveyors to be registered with the Professional Surveyors Registration Council established as a body corporate under this Act. The Council shall be responsible for: (a) the promotion and maintenance of high technical standards among registered surveyors; (b) the exercise of disciplinary control over registered surveyors; and (c) such other matters of professional concern to registered surveyors as the Council may determine. The Act sets out qualifications for registration. The Council shall establish a Code of Conduct for registered surveyors.
These Regulations implement provisions of the Professional Surveyors Registration Act in relation to the application for registration as a registered surveyor or restoration of name in the register under sections 8 or 12 of the Act and to delivery of notices in writing. The Schedule to these Regulations sets out the form of application.
