La Malaisie comprend deux masses continentales principales. La Malaisie péninsulaire (ou occidentale) borde Singapour (via des ponts terrestres) et la Thaïlande, tandis que la Malaisie orientale au nord de l’île de Bornéo borde Brunei et l’Indonésie. La Fédération de Malaisie a été formée en 1948 et a obtenu son indépendance de la souveraineté britannique en 1957. La Malaisie a été formée en tant que nouvelle fédération en 1963, introduisant les États de Singapour (temporairement jusqu’en 1965), Sarawak et Sabah.

SUHAKAM

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) was established by Parliament under the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia Act 1999, Act 597. The Act was gazetted on 9 September 1999. The inaugural meeting of SUHAKAM was held on 24 April 2000.
