Corruption in land governance is commonly defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain while carrying out the functions of land administration and land management. When land investors target countries with weak governance, the risk of corruption is high. Likewise, corruption is more likely to occur when local elites are able to manipulate their country’s land governance systems for their own benefit.

La Fondation Land Portal recherche un coordinateur dynamique et très motivé pour établir et diriger un réseau international de chercheurs sur les questions foncières afin d'accroître les données et informations foncières disponibles sur le portail terrestre et de consolider le rôle du portail terrestre en tant que source réputée d'informations foncières bien fondées et accessibles. Il s'agit d'un poste à temps partiel (c'est-à-dire 2 jours/semaine) pour une période de 12 mois, avec possibilité de renouvellement en fonction des performances. Les femmes et les personnes originaires du Sud sont encouragées à postuler.

The Open Data Charter is a collaboration between governments and organizations working to open up data based on a shared set of Principles. With 73 government adopters and 53 organizations endorsers, our goal is to embed open data as a central ingredient to achieving better solutions to the most pressing policy challenges of our time.

The Gecko Project is an investigative journalism initiative established to shine a light on the corruption driving land grabs and the destruction of tropical rainforests. It seeks to create and maintain a sense of urgency over the role of large land deals, predominantly for food production, in some of the most pressing global challenges: climate change, the collapse of biodiversity, food security, and the rights of indigenous peoples and other rural communities. We aim to achieve this through the production and promotion of in-depth, high-quality and accessible journalism.
