The Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and the Silk Road Studies Program constitute a joint Transatlantic Research and Policy Center. The Center is independent and privately funded, and has offices in Washington, D.C., and Stockholm, Sweden. The Center is affiliated with the American Foreign Policy Council, and with the Stockholm-based Institute for Security and Development Policy.

Central Asian Survey is the only established peer reviewed, multi-disciplinary journal in the world concerned with the history, politics, cultures, religions, and economies of the Central Asian and Caucasian regions. Original articles, review essays, and book reviews published in Central Asian Survey reflect advances made by social sciences and humanities scholars who ground their research in: the former Soviet republics of Central Asia, the North Caucasus, and the South Caucasus; Chinese Xinjiang, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkey, as relate to Central Asia.

The Global Data Barometer is a collaborative project that aims to measure the state of data in relation to urgent societal issues.  Together with regional hubs and thematic partners, we seek to appraise data availability, governance, capability and use around the world to help shape data infrastructures that limit risks and harms in climate action, company information, health and COVID-19, land, political integrity, public finance and public procurement.
