The National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute was established under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to consolidate agriculture and forestry research activities within the country and develop a coordinated National Agriculture and Forestry Research System.

Despite our growth, we have remained true to our founding spirit: to emphasize and support local leadership, decision-making and ownership, in both Laos and Cambodia.

Entreprendre contre la pauvreté

 

Nous tous, chez Agrisud, n’acceptons pas l’idée qu’aujourd’hui 1,4 milliards de personnes puissent vivre en situation de pauvreté, avec le plus souvent de grandes difficultés pour se nourrir quotidiennement.

Au Sud comme au Nord, nous savons que cette situation est due très souvent à l’exclusion économique, pour des raisons multiples, qui elle-même entraîne progressivement l’exclusion sociale.

Nous sommes convaincus qu’une des réponses à cette situation est de faire revenir ces personnes dans le circuit économique.

 

In 2008, Kepa established an office in Bangkok to initiate its programme in the Mekong Region - Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. In 2010, the Thai authorities gave the official permit for Kepa to operate a regional office. In september 2015 Kepa board decided to close the Mekong office due to the budget cuts by the government of Finland. Kepa Mekong has closed its doors by the end of January in 2016.

RECOFTC

RECOFTC is derived from an abbreviated form of the organization's legal name, Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific. Formerly the organization was known as RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests.

The Lao DECIDE Info is an initiative of the Government of the Lao PDR that strives to improve access to key data and information for development planning and well-informed decision-making in the Lao PDR. The platform hosts a wide range of information from the social, economic, environmental and agricultural sectors and allows to navigate, visualise, combine and download the data at different level of spatial disaggregation.

The Center for Lao Studies is a unique organization that serves both as an academic and a resource center for scholars, the general public, and persons of Lao heritage around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and engagement in the field of Lao Studies through research, education and information sharing. Ourvision is to be an institution that leads and excels in the pursuit of knowledge in the field of Lao Studies.

Earth Systems Mekong provides consulting, project management and research and development capabilities in the environmental sector within the Mekong River Basin (Lao PDR, Cambodia, Thailand, Southern China and Vietnam). We seek and implement innovative and effective solutions to environmental problems; and offer a high quality, objective and value-adding service that reflects environmental expectations of the present and anticipates those of the future.

Officially formed in April 2013, The Forest Peoples Land Rights Network (LandNet) is a ‘member network established under the principles of volunteerism, democracy, cooperation and unification in order to manage and utilize efficiently land and forestry resources for self-sustaining livelihoods’. LandNet is a highly participatory bottom-up network originating from  the grassroots work facilitated by CIRUM and its Alliance partners over the last two decades.

The Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) is a regional, intergovernmental and autonomous organisation. It was established on 6 July 1979 at the initiative of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations with support from several other UN bodies and donors. The Centre came into being to meet the felt needs of the developing countries at that time as an institution for promoting integrated rural development in the region.

 

PADETC (Participatory Development Training Center) is a training center promoting participatory processes for sustainable development. PADETC is located in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

PADETC is a not-for-profit Lao organization, registered under the Department of Private Education in the Ministry of Education, Lao PDR.

Vision

To support all civic actors to enable change towards a ‘Livable Society’ in Laos through holistic education development. This is balanced development centered on youth as agents of change for well-being and a livable society.
