Item 4.1 shall acquire a new wording: «By decision of the head of local administration in case of expropriation of land area not exceeding 5 hectares in the cities and not exceeding 25 hectares in rural areas. »

This Law, divided into 5 Chapters, provides for the privatization of rural lands in Lithuania and aims at regulating landownership relations and land reform procedure. Chapter 1 contains general provisions.

This Ministerial Decree regulates submittal and examination of the applications for the expropriation of land for public needs, assessment of compensation of damage caused thereby to landowners and other land managers.

This Regulation governs the procedure regulating the acquisition of non-agricultural plots of land by national and foreign subjects in Lithuania. There are detailed provisions relating to the procedure for submitting and considering applications as well as issuing authorizations for the acquisition of non-agricultural plots of land.

This Law makes provision for the legal registration of land, buildings, structures and other real property ,the status of the Real Property Register of the Republic of, the establishment of this register, its record-keeping, reorganization and liquidation, the rights, duties and liability of the institutions managing the Real Property Register.

The purpose of the supervision by the officers authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture of land reclamation works is to guarantee the enforcement of provisions of laws which apply to the preparation and carrying out of land reclamation works. These Regulations specify the rights and obligations of such officers. (8 regulations)

This Regulation makes provision for expert examination with regards to the feasibility and viability of proposed land reclamation projects. Such examination is made for all land reclamation and hydrotechnic works irrespective the source of financing (art. 2). Expert examination shall be carried out by an institution authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture (art. 3).

Territorial planning is described as a process and procedure of land use planning in article 2. The objectives of territorial planning are outlined in article 3. Articles 4 to 20 concern territorial planning at national, county, and municipal level. Planning shall be: general or "master" (arts. 5-10); special (arts. 1-14), or; detailed (arts. 15-20).

The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania pursuant to Article 69, Paragraph 3, of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania enters into the list of constitutional laws the Constitutional Law on the Subjects, Procedure, Terms and Conditions and Restrictions of the Acquisition into Ownership of Land Plots.
