These Regulations implement provisions of the Geothermal Resources Act with respect to, among other things: an application for an authority under section 6 of the Act; the application for and granting of a geothermal resources licence; an appraisal programme to be submitted after the discovery to the Minister for approval; submittal to the Minister of a production programme by a licensee, which shall include proposals for the prevention of pollution, the safeguarding of natural resources, the progressive reclamation and rehabilitation of lands, the minimization of the effect on adjoining lands and a statement of any significant adverse effect on the environment; the prohibition to enter any area of land declared to be a national park or natural reserve under the wildlife (Conservation and Management) Act; drilling and maintenance of boreholes.
