Somali Youth Development Foundation (SYDF) is a Local Non- profit, Non-governmental and Humanitarian organization founded by a faculty of Somali professionals and was officially launched in the year 2007 in Somalia and 2013 in Kenya and 2017 accredited By Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) United Nations also 2018 accredited by UNEP,UNFCCC and UNCCD 2020 by the youth for the youth in which all young people are valued, respected, and treated with dignity.

Ogiek Peoples’ Development Program (OPDP) is a Kenyan based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1999 and registered by the Kenyan Government in 2001. It was formed by the typical Ogiek elders, opinion leaders, and professionals after long historical injustices that deprived Ogiek community of their rights as Kenyan citizens.


CETRAD is a Bilateral Institution between the Government of Kenya (through The Ministry of Water and Irrigation) and the Government of Swiss Confederation, through the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Berne. CETRAD was established in July 2002 as a follow up of the then Laikipia Research Programme (1976 - 1997), and therefore builds on the long term preinvestment research facility.

An important outcome of the 1972 UN Summit on Environment in Stockholm, Sweden, was the agreement between Kenya and Sweden to cooperate on soil conservation. As a result, the Kenya National Soil and Water Conservation Programme started in 1974 under the Ministry of Agriculture, with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency(Sida). In 1982, Sida established the Regional Soil Conservation Unit (RSCU) to disseminate soil and water conservation experiences in Kenya to other Countries in the region.
