Farmers are key actors in land management confronted with societyâs increasing demand for public goods. Understanding farmersâ values and motivations is essential to policy makers to foster more sustainable production practices. So far, no definite value profile for European farmers exists.
This workshop was organized in the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) led initiative on “Financial and institutional risk mitigation and management strategies”.
This report provides an overview of about twenty bioeconomy strategies, at international , national and sub-national levels. It analyses how these strategies have addressed sustainability issues. The report also provides a brief discussion on approaches used to develop bioeconomy strategies.
