Arid and semi-arid soils cover more than half of the total landscape of Chile. They occur in two distincts sectors of the country and can be conveniently referred to as 1) the Pacific Arid zone and 2) the Patagonian Arid Zone.
" Special terms and conditions on which State lands in Guyana can be obtained for the cultivation on a large scale of rubber, limes and other citrus fruit, cacao, coffee, fibres, coconuts, and other permanent agricultural products under the State Lands Act". This Act makes provision for the payment of compensation for withholding of property by persons acting in collusion with tenants and for the recovery of non-paid rent. The Act also makes provision for the renewal of leases without the surrender of land.

This Agreement originally only covered claims made by Quebec Cree Indians and Inuit. Later this Agreement was slightly modified in 1978 by the Northeastern Quebec Agreement, through which Quebec's Naskapi First Nations joined the treaty.
