This Decree-Law, consisting of 7 Chapters and three Annexes, regulates the preparation and implementation process of the Plans for the Management of Coastal Zones and the Adjacent Sea (POOC_M). This Plans are territorial management tools containing a set of actions for the coastal zone management, which interventions are planned for the terrestrial areas, referred as 'onshore', and areas called as 'adjacent sea areas'. In addition, it specifies their territorial areas, boundaries, area of interventions and management regime, including special areas and other classification of zones, such as: Special Tourism zones, Risk Areas and Protected Areas Conservation of Nature and Biodiversity Areas, etc. Annexes list planning principles to be observed for settlement, use and transformation of the onshore coastal areas; studies for onshore coastal areas and adjacent sea areas plans; necessary material and documents for POOC_M and their preparation process, models, offences and penalties.
