Our vision, values & goals

We believe that poverty is unjustifiable and preventable, that the present state of inequality and injustice must be challenged, and that with the right help, poor people can change their lives for the better.

Our vision

Oxfam’s vision is a just world without poverty. We envisage a world in which people can influence decisions that affect their lives, enjoy their rights, and assume their responsibilities—a  world in which everyone is valued and treated equally.

  • Create opportunities and platforms to share knowledge and good practice

  • Inform policy to foster an enabling environment for local and indigenous community action

The target audience is anyone involved in REDD discussions – while it is unlikely that you’ll agree with everything written here, REDD-Monitor looks forward to your contributions to the discussions.

There is a good chance that you have already encountered NIRAS. At least in terms of projects that we have been involved in. As consulting engineers, we do not affix little “Made in” stickers to our projects. If we did, you would see them everywhere.
