Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) is an independent Tanzanian non-profit organization that provides grants and capacity building services to civil society organizations (CSOs) so as to enhance their effectiveness in enabling engagement of citizens in development processes. It was established 15 years ago by development stakeholders in Tanzania.

Our work is aimed at development policy and practice. This includes the design and assessment of interventions in sectors ranging from agriculture to finance and education to media, and in the wider business environment. In all our work we seek to marry a strong operational perspective with knowledge of the development context and a commitment to wider development objectives. Our work covers Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

Background The Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (MOFEC), formerly known as the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, is a national entity located in Ethiopia. Its mandate is to oversee the planning and implementation of development programmes, including those that address climate change.

HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (or Helvetas in brief) is a Swiss association for international cooperation. It was founded in 1955 as the first private organization for development co-operation in Switzerland.

Helvetas is an international network of independent affiliate member organisations working in the field of development cooperation and emergency response. The main focus of our work is on international projects.

Ecorys is one of the oldest economic research and consulting companies in Europe. Its history dates back to 1929, when a group of businessmen from Rotterdam established the Foundation NEI: The Netherlands Economic Institute. The goal of the Foundation NEI was to stimulate the collection and the analysis of economic data. One of its first directors (1935-1968) was Professor Jan Tinbergen, who was awarded the first Nobel Prize for Economics for his work in 1969.

Ecuadorian Canadian Development Fund (Fondo Ecuatoriano Canadiense de Desarrollo) is a state-run Canadian aid agency. It is a financing entity for development projects in Ecuador.

Friends of the Nation (FoN) is a non-profit-making, non-governmental organization (NGO) involved in socio-environmental advocacy that was established in October 1993 and headquartered in Adiembra in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region of Ghana.The organization has three program areas namely, Natural Resources Management, Community Development and Enterprise Development.

The idea behind Well Grounded came from the experience of the two founder members. Cath Long and Iola Leal had both been working for a long time with civil society organisations in tropical countries that focussed on community rights and the sustainable management of natural resources. And although they both met many inspirational and dynamic individuals and groups who were doing extraordinary things, they realised that these same people and groups kept running up against barriers that stopped them from scaling up what they were doing and having the impact they hoped for.

Africa Spectrum is published by the GIGA Institute for African Affairs (IAA) in Hamburg since 1966. It is a peer-reviewed open access journal dedicated to original research on the politics, societies, and economics of sub-Saharan Africa. As a multidisciplinary journal, Africa Spectrum welcomes submissions employing a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches.
