The dramatic decline of the abundance of farmland bird species can be related to the level of land-use intensity or the land-cover heterogeneity of rural landscapes. Our study area in central Europe (Hungary) included 3049 skylark observation points and their 600 m buffer zones.

Net Primary Productivity (NPP) can effectively reflect the characteristics and strength of the response to external disturbances on estuarine alluvial island ecosystems, which can provide evidence for regulating human development and utilization activities and improving blue carbon capacity. However, there are a few studies on NPP of estuarine alluvial islands.

The surrounding landscape of ancient Pergamon is characterized by several mountain ranges, the Bakırçay Valley and River and the Aegean coastline. The accessibility of this region was vital for the city since it provided food and resources as well as trade, communication and military movements, all facilitated by a well-developed route network.
