The African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), acting as a consortium, have launched a joint initiative to develop a land policy framework in Africa to strengthen land rights, enhance productivity and secure livelihoods.

These Rules concern the administration of estates of deceased persons. Their purpose if to permit Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration to be signed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court following the removal of the power for the Governor to act as a judge of the Supreme Court.

These Rules concern forms and some other matters prescribed under the Registered Land Ordinance. The forms of the Register and Land Certificate shall be such forms as the Registrar (with the consent of the Governor) may from time to time approve. The forms required to be used under the Ordinance shall be as prescribed in the First Schedule to these Rules.

These Regulations reserved lands as a lay or common for the pasturage of animals. The number and kind of animals that may be pastured at any time on any of the lands by any individual owner shall be determined by the Council Committee.

This Ordinance empowers the Council Committee to order in writing the owner or occupier of land to undertake or adopt such measures as they may deem necessary for the conservation of natural resources on such land and the prevention of injury to the natural resources on other land.

These Rules provide for the protection of land of which the slope exceeds a specified percentage. Cultivation, grazing, destruction of vegetation on such land without an authorization of the authorized officer shall be an offence. The soil shall be adequately protection against erosion by conservation works.
