The Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD), previously known as the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development, is the Catholic aid agency for England and Wales. It is an international aid agency working to alleviate poverty and suffering in developing countries. It is funded by the Catholic community in England and Wales, the British Government and the general public by donations.[1]

CAFOD is an agency of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales and part of the Caritas International Federation which operates in many countries and territories worldwide. CAFOD is a member of the DEC Disasters Emergency Committee and the British Overseas Aid Group.

La publicación, denominada «Proteger nuestra casa común: Defensoras y defensores de la tierra y del medioambiente en Latinoamérica»,  tiene como base una investigación realizada entre el 2019 y el 2021 acerca de las tendencias actuales de abusos de derechos humanos y medioambientales a los que se enfrentan los defensores y las defensoras de derechos humanos (DDH) en seis países de Latinoamérica: Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras y Perú.

Geographical focus: 

The programme funds local peasant and faith groups (Provincial Union of Peasants of Niassa and Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace to promote together the communities in which they work, information activities and training on all the rights attached to land use and the land and provide the assistance necessary for the proper treatment and resolution of emerging problems in communities.
