The most important area of the common agricultural policy of the European Union (EU) is the sustainable development of rural territories.

Modern agriculture development possibilities are highly dependent on many factors, including those which are related to the parameters of land spatial structure (including parcels fragmentation and parameters related to their shape). In particular, unfavourable shape of parcels in combination with their small sizes is the most common reason for non-profitability of agricultural production.

Poland's accession to the European Union and the resulting availability of direct payments to farmland owners increased the prices of agricultural property. The main aim of the study was to identify the most desirable attributes of agricultural property and to verify whether those features affect the prices of traded farmland. The survey was conducted in the region of Warmia and Mazury.

The aim of the study was to determine the effects of land use management on changes in the fecal contamination of water in the Łyna River, one of the main lowland watercourses in the southern watershed of the Baltic Sea (northern Poland).

This paper attempts to provide an interdisciplinary concept of the bio-economy in the context of environmental changes in the Polish agriculture. Various definitions of bio-economy have been presented and its place in the sustainable development theory has been described. The aim of this paper is to present the environmental changes in Polish agriculture in the context of the bio-economy.
