  La CAFO s'est constituée en ONG en mars 1992. Elle regroupe aujourd'hui la majorité des associations féminines maliennes, plus de 2222 organismes, et possède des cellules et des représentantes dans dix quartiers de la capitale et des bureaux décentralisés dans les autres régions du pays.
