RRI is excited to announce the launch of its new online Tenure Tool. This platform, hosted on RRI’s website, will give rightsholders, researchers, activists, policymakers, and the public free and easy access to qualitative and quantitative data on the forest tenure rights of Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, local communities, and the women within those communities.

The Tenure Tool houses the largest and most comprehensive dataset to date on Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and local communities’ forest tenure rights, drawing on longitudinal data sets maintained and regularly updated by RRI.

Desde 2021 a los indígenas ese ejjas de la comunidad Eyiyoquibo les espera un bosque amazónico otorgado por el INRA. Después de varios reencuentros fallidos, un día caloroso, los comunarios más decididos de la comunidad emprendieron un viaje sinuoso hacia dónde un día fue hábitat de sus ancestros. Cuando llegó el atardecer, sin embargo, todos se montaron a los camiones empolvados con el mismo ahínco de ida. Es que para habitar el bosque y recuperar la cultura también se necesitan servicios básicos.

Esta semana, los cruceños sufrieron la peor crisis climática y ambiental. La alta contaminación del aire por el humo de los incendios obligó a las autoridades a suspender las clases en más de 3.600 escuelas y colegios. Durante tres días consecutivos, en horas pico, el termómetro marcó por encima de 40° C, algo sin precedentes en la urbe cruceña. A razón de estos hechos, el comité de emergencia declaró “alerta roja sanitaria” y se multiplicaron los pedidos para buscar y sancionar a los culpables.

Instruments like the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) are "voluntary", i.e., legally non-binding. These instruments are intended to have a direct influence on the governance of the tenure practice of states by providing an internationally recognized set of principles, and by simultaneously encouraging good practices.



A AS-PTA – Agricultura Familiar e Agroecologia é uma associação de direito civil sem fins lucrativos que, desde 1983, atua para o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar e a promoção do desenvolvimento rural sustentável no Brasil.
