Join the Resource Equity in an accredited ten-week online course. Explore what works to advance women’s land and resource rights and address gender inequality. Gain expert insights into how to avoid the unintended and harmful consequences of gender-neutral thinking in land laws, policies, and programs.


Learn how to:

  • Frame key concepts for women’s land tenure security that have depth and nuance 
  • Distinguish gender issues related to collective tenure vs. individual tenure
  • Recognize common barriers to women’s meaningful participation in land governance, consultation, or decision-making bodies and how they can be tackled
  • Analyze gender-specific issues on customary tenure, indigenous peoples’ and local community lands and territories
  • Spot red flags for women’s rights to land and resources in family, succession, religious, and personal formal laws
  • Find hidden obstacles to women’s rights in land and property laws and beyond a right to inherit and marital property
  • Understand the conditions when joint titling of marital property works (or doesn’t) for women
  • Identify barriers and opportunities for women in accessing land related justice
  • Connecting gender and land rights to development projects where land is not the primary focus including climate change, extractives, gender-based violence, and agricultural development.

Course cost:

The full 10-week course Tuition cost is $1,200 USD for full fee-paying participants.

Tuition support  is available based on need (for scholarship applicants, identify in your application form that you would like to receive a scholarship). Support with technology may also be available based on need.
