The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

An Act to amend the Physical Planning Act (Cap. 8.03).
This Act amends the Physical Planning Act in section 2 by inserting definitions of “beach sand” and “floor of the sea” and in section 15 by replacing in subsection 1 by replacing the definition of “development” and in subsection (2), by inserting the following as paragraph (ba): “(ba) the mining of beach sand; or”. Section 15 concerns the meaning of "development for purposes of the Act.

An Act to amend the Physical Planning Act (Cap. 8.03).
This Act amends the Physical Planning Act: in section 2 (interpretation); in section 3 by deleting paragraph (h) and substituting the following: “(h) the Managing Director of the Montserrat Utilities Limited (MUL) or a representative nominated by the Managing Director; by inserting section 63A on the sale of products and services by the Chief Physical Planner; in section 64 with respect to fees for the sale of products and services.

An Act relating to loans for agricultural purposes.
The Act provides with respect to the granting of loans for the cultivation and management of land. No person who is owner of lands of a gross agricultural value exceeding two thousand five hundred dollars shall be eligible for a loan by the Government under this Act, provided that the Minister may from time to time increase the limit to any amount not exceeding five thousand dollars.
